What is DairyFAN?

The Dairy Food Advocacy Network (DairyFAN) is an innovative leadership and social media advocacy outreach program sponsored by the American Dairy Association North East (ADANE). It is designed for college students, young professionals and other advocates interested in advancing their knowledge and ability to engage on social media in the growing and complex public dialogue surrounding our farms and our food.

DairyFAN combines interactive social media engagement and leadership training, food issues education and opportunities for networking and participating in digital initiatives around food. It offers access to a valuable network of skilled professionals through a program that supports the educational, personal and professional development of DairyFAN participants.

What do DairyFAN members do?

As a DairyFAN member, you will be asked to actively engage in the program by participating in the following activities:

Active Social Media Interaction: Engage in social media discussions a minimum of five times per week, actively seek to expand their network, initiate and respond to key food topics and participate in special online DairyFAN events, such as DairyFAN hosted Twitter parties.

Training Sessions: Attend quarterly educational sessions, which will span a variety of topics and may be online or in person.

ADANE Events: Participate in ADANE events, (online and/or in person), networking activities, volunteer opportunities or community outreach. Members are encouraged to get involved in industry events happening in their local area or statewide and bring these events to life via real-time social media engagement.
