AdVenture Capital – Teen Innovator
Ciara D., an eighth-grade student from Our Lady of Calvary School, Philadelphia, recently was named SAP’s Teen Innovator as part of the GENYOUth Foundation and SAP’s AdVenture Capital “Social Innovation Series.”
Ciara’s Community Wellness app, which aims to track and award points to students for their healthy lifestyle choices, beat out hundreds of ideas presented by students during the Innovation Series’ five-city tour this past fall where students pitched ideas to judges. Ciara created and designed her idea at the Philadelphia Social Innovation Series event held at SAP Headquarters, Newtown Square, in November. In addition to $10,000 in funding to plan and build her app, Ciara will have some help with her planning process when she meets SAP executives at their Palo Alto office to talk strategy and execution. And did we mention that Ciara won four tickets to the Super Bowl 50?
Domino’s Transformation Experience Winner
Anirudh is an 8th grade student at Kingsway Regional Middle School and a New Jersey Fuel Up to Play 60 State Ambassador. Recently, he was honored as one of seven national winners of the AdVenture Capital Domino’s Transformation Experience. AdVenture Capital is GENYOUth’s student entrepreneurship program, which helps students over 13 design health and wellness projects online at AdCapYOUth.org, then submit their ideas to receive funding, mentors, and/or an experience.
Anirudh’s idea proposed revamping his school’s breakfast program to make it easily accessible and affordable for all students. In addition to attending the Domino’s Transformation Experience in Ann Arbor, MI, Ani was awarded a $3,000 grant and was selected to have this project be a part of a documentary that will show how three students’ ideas are transforming their schools.
Fuel Up to Play 60 is the GENYOUth’s flagship program.
